Bert Pence has been in the real estate business in Austin since 1971, first as a Commercial Broker, then beginning in 1981, the development of residential subdivisions and commercial projects including One Texas Center a 225,000 sf, 13 story office building in downtown Austin that was completed in 1983.

In 1987 Capital City Warehousing, L.P. was created to build and own metal warehouses in Austin, Round Rock and Buda-Kyle.
